Zora Matthews, a writer and daughter of a famous author, escapes to her father's secluded hideaway in Topanga Canyon after a fight with her husband. She meets a cast of characters who knew her father, including a bartender, his wife, and a handyman. As she learns more about her father's dark past, including murder and suicide, her schizophrenia worsens and her dreams become increasingly terrifying.
