A modern girl is mysteriously transported back in time to feudal Japan, where she partners with a half-demon to retrieve the broken pieces of a highly sought-after gemstone.
A high school student named Kagome Higurashi accidentally travels back in time to the 15th century after falling into a well at her family's shrine. There, she learns she is the reincarnation of Kikyo, a priestess who previously sealed away the half-demon Inuyasha.
