William Thornhill's life takes a drastic turn in 1806 as he's sentenced to life in New South Wales, ultimately becoming entangled in a violent struggle that forever alters the land and its inhabitants.
A former Thames bargeman, William Thornhill, is sent to New South Wales in 1806 for stealing timber, only to later be pardoned and establish a new life on the Hawkesbury River, which has been inhabited by the Darug people for thousands of years.
