Apple Mortgage Cake

Angela Logan, a single mother of three, struggles to make ends meet after her divorce from her deadbeat ex-husband. She's been focusing on her sons' well-being and her own self-doubt, avoiding dating for five years. With the house in disrepair, Angela takes out a mortgage, but her substitute teaching job doesn't provide enough income. She's had to make sacrifices, including giving up her car and cell phone. With the city inspector and bank breathing down her neck, Angela must come up with $4,000 in ten days or face foreclosure. To tackle this crisis, she decides to sell her famous apple cakes, with the help of her sons and friends, including Melvin George, a comedian she dated ten years ago. As Angela navigates this challenge, she must confront her self-doubt and learn to have faith in herself.
