In Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, Omar runs an orphanage in dire need of funds, struggling to pay off debts and maintain his home for the children. When a street kid named Moco steals a watch from a sport fishing boat captain, Omar seizes the opportunity to help the boy and returns the stolen item. As Hurricane Odile ravages the town, the orphanage is threatened, but the storm also cancels the international fishing tournament, allowing local fishermen to participate. Wade, a washed-up American fisherman, is forced to team up with Omar and the orphanage's boys, including Moco, to qualify for the tournament. If they win, the prize money will save the orphanage from foreclosure. Can they catch the winning marlin and secure a brighter future for the children?
