In a small Norwegian village, a forced landing of two American pilots, Jimmy and Duke, interrupts the Bride's Fair. Jimmy manages Duke, a publicity-seeking band leader, who has a secret understanding with Flo back in the states. Despite an old superstition linking Duke to Trudy Ericksen, Duke leaves for Paris, prompting Trudy to follow him to New York, only to find he's fled to Florida with Flo.
