J.KESSELS is a hilarious road movie and bittersweet trip down memory lane, following a chain-smoking tough guy named Kessels and his friend Frans as they embark on a wild adventure from Holland to Hamburg and back. The journey is a hallucinatory trip through the mind of an author who is unsure what is real and what is part of his imagination. Along the way, they encounter a series of surreal and absurd situations, including a kidnapping, booze and nicotine binges, and a Turkish pimp who becomes a corpse in the trunk of their car.
