Fedja van Huêt is a versatile and acclaimed stage and screen actor in the Netherlands, renowned for his extensive and varied body of work. Before graduating from the Maastricht Theatre Academy, he was cast by Mike van Diem to play the lead role in the Oscar-winning film "Character" (Best Foreign Language Film, 1998).
As an ensemble member of Johan Simon's legendary Hollandia theatre company from 1996 to 2005, Fedja toured throughout Europe and, in 2000, won the prestigious European Prize New Theatrical Realities. He then joined renowned Belgian director Ivo van Hove's Toneelgroep Amsterdam from 2005 to 2013, starring in notable productions such as "Angels in America", "Opening Night", "Coriolanus", "Platonov", and "MacBeth", for which he received a Best Actor nomination.
Throughout his career, Fedja has received numerous accolades, including the Mary Dresselhuys prize for his oeuvre and extraordinary accomplishments as a theatre actor in 2013. He has also worked extensively in film, starring in Erik de Bruyn's "Wilde Mossels" (Best Film Award 2000, Dutch film press) and winning his first Golden Calf for Best Actor in 2001 for his dual role in "Amnesia" from Martin Koolhoven, which premiered at the International Film Festival Rotterdam.
Fedja was selected as a Shooting Star (Europe's leading young talent) at the Berlin International Film Festival in 2002 and went on to act in Margarethe von Trotta's "Rosenstrasse" (Golden Beer nomination, Venice Film Festival 2003),"Guernsey" (Quinzaine des Realiteurs, Cannes 2005),and "Wolfsbergen" (Berlin International Film Festival 2007),all directed by Nanouk Leopold.
In 2008, he performed in the German production "Buddenbrooks" (starring Armin Mueller-Stahl),and in 2010, he starred opposite Isabella Rossellini and Burghart Klaussner in Vincent Bal's "Nono, Het Zigzagkind" (selected for the Berlin Film Festival Generation K-plus and winner Young Audience Award Berlijn EFA).
Audiences in the Netherlands also know him from the popular television series "Penoza", "Overspel", and "Divorce".
