A veteran detective, Jack "Jigsaw" Lasky, is tasked with catching a new serial killer, known as the "Piggy Bank Murderer", who is targeting female students at a local college. The killer slashes his victims' throats and leaves behind a cryptic message, "She Needed The Money". As Jack searches for the killer, he becomes partnered with Richard Darling, a suspicious out-of-work actor with a connection to Jack's art student daughter, Jennifer, who is a student at the same college.
