Two veteran cops, Riggs and Murtaugh, face off against sophisticated drug dealers wielding automatic weapons and helicopters. As they're threatened, the Captain reassigns them to protect a key witness, Leo Getz, who's about to testify in a major case. However, things take a dark turn when they learn that Getz laundered half a billion dollars of drug money. As they follow a trail of clues, they're met with gunfire at a location Getz once visited.
