Amitabh Bachchan's character Shankar grows up as an atheist after his family is brutally murdered by Tiger, but he seeks revenge by blinding him instead of killing him. As an adult, Shankar becomes a thief, joining forces with Balbir and Gauri. However, after being shot by Tiger and discovering his mother is still alive, Shankar decides to stop stealing and reunite with his family. Along the way, he learns that the man he thought killed his family is actually alive, leading him to seek revenge once more.
