Truman York, a recently deceased painter, reappears when his supposed posthumous artwork surfaces, leading him to a gallery and his dealer to uncover the source of the paintings. Meanwhile, a man whose wife died in the same accident Truman supposedly perished in starts searching for him. Truman takes refuge in his wife's apartment, but is later murdered, and the man is arrested. Truman then enlists the help of his friend Ken Malansky, who contacts Perry for assistance.
