A university student in Edinburgh is controlled by a reclusive figure, Ward Johnson, who may be a dark alter ego. The student, Robert, is manipulated into stalking and marking people for execution or initiation by a group of thugs known as "The Company". However, his life takes a new turn when he falls in love with a photography student, Mary Michaels, and begins to envision a brighter future.
