In 1799, a group of rebels, led by a mysterious figure who is later revealed to be Count Amalfi, stage a daring plot to liberate Naples from tyranny. Meanwhile, the Queen becomes aware of a brazen pirate attack on one of her loyal subjects.

In 1799, a group of rebels, the "Pirates of Capri", led by Captain Sirroco, a.k.a. Count Amalfi, aim to liberate Naples from oppression. When the Queen learns of the pirates' attack on one of her court members, she decides to flee to Palermo. However, she's advised to attend a ball hosted by Amalfi for his fiancée, Mercedes, who remains unaware of his dual identity.
