In the competitive Seattle radio market, K-Sof Radio has struggled to maintain its upscale audience and revenue. After hiring a media consulting firm, the station is recommended to switch from Classical music to Urban Contemporary (Rap) music, sparking controversy and a local protest. The station's new format puts the relationships of its employees to the test, including the maintenance man torn between his love of Hip Hop and his girlfriend's opposition to the music. Meanwhile, the station's Program Director falls for a retail employee who is also opposed to Rap music. Can K-HIP-FM overcome public pressure and advertiser defection to reclaim its top spot in the ratings?
