Trouble with the Curve

Gus Lobel, a veteran baseball scout, is urged to retire by his team. Instead, he asks for one final assignment to prove himself. His friend Pete Klein requests his estranged daughter Mickey to accompany him, as his failing eyesight makes him a concern. Despite a doctor's advice to treat his eyes, Gus is determined to complete his mission, taking him to North Carolina. Mickey joins him, putting her work on hold, and seeks answers about her father's past actions. Along the way, Gus encounters Johnny, a talented scout and former player he once discovered, and Mickey finds herself drawn to him.
