Lin Tianjiao, a top student, forms a friendship with Gao Xiang, a wayward student, after he takes the blame for her cheating. As they grow closer, Lin Tianjiao's mother disapproves of their friendship, citing its distraction from her studies. Despite this, Gao Xiang continues to show his love for Lin Tianjiao, going so far as to sneak into an astronomy exhibition to take photos for her. However, he is arrested and forced to quit school. Lin Tianjiao eventually comes to realize her selfishness and declines the award for best student, instead choosing to pursue her own dreams of astronomy.
