A teenage girl named Tohru Honda takes up residence in a tent on land owned by the mysterious Soma family after a family crisis. Unbeknownst to her, the Somas are afflicted with a strange curse where they transform into animals from the Chinese Zodiac whenever they are hugged by someone of the opposite gender.
