The story centers on Yuuichi Katagiri, a high school student who has adapted to living with financial constraints. He diligently saves up for the school trip, but his efforts are thwarted when the class funds are stolen, with his friends as prime suspects.

A group of friends on a school trip discover that their collected funds have vanished, and two of them are wrongly accused. However, they take the blame, only to receive cryptic letters that lead to a shocking ambush and a mysterious room filled with "Manabu-kun" from a notorious children's show. To clear their names, they must participate in a "friendship game" that pushes their bonds and trust to the limit, while Yuuichi must unravel the truth behind the theft and uncover the identity of the real traitor.
