Carry on Girls

In the British seaside town of Fircombe, a beauty pageant is proposed to attract tourists, despite the town's history of excessive rainfall and lack of indoor activities. The idea is met with opposition from a staunch feminist councilor, Augusta Proudworthy, who sees it as degrading to women. Meanwhile, the mayor, Frederick Bumble, is more concerned with his public image than the actual welfare of the town. The pageant's organizer, Sid Fidler, hires a publicist and plans to house the contestants at the Palace Hotel, which is owned by his girlfriend. As the pageant approaches, the arrival of a disapproving fiancée and a group of feminist activists threaten to ruin the event.
