Two young strangers, Lisa and Brad, meet by chance in a blizzard and seek shelter at the abandoned Rosemont Lodge. The lodge's owner, Josephine, reluctantly takes them in, and over the next few days, their lives are transformed as they contend with a birth, a past revealed, a romance blossoming, and a struggle to keep a baby.
