In 1872, Lawrence van Helsing and Count Dracula engage in a final battle atop a coach, resulting in Dracula's demise from a stake made from a wooden wheel. The aftermath sees Lawrence's death and burial, while a servant of Dracula secretly buries the stake remains and keeps a bottle of Dracula's ashes and ring. A century later, Johnny, the great-grandson of the servant, teams up with Jessica, the granddaughter of Abraham van Helsing, to unwittingly resurrect Dracula in 20th-century London.
