Kelly Sherwood, a bank clerk, is stalked by a stranger who knows her routine and threatens to kill her and her sister Toby unless she steals $100,000 from the bank. The stranger is asthmatic and Kelly is able to lure him into a trap, contacting FBI agent John 'Rip' Ripley for help. With the FBI's surveillance, Kelly tries to stay calm and aid in the capture of the criminal after Toby is abducted.
