Tony Greene, a former NBA star, is struggling with depression and addiction after a traumatic home invasion took the love of his life 18 years ago. His best friend, Dr. Terrence Daniel, convinces him to coach the Lincoln Community College women's basketball team to help him get back on track. At tryouts, Tony meets Destiny, a 17-year-old orphan with a bad attitude and impressive jump shot. Despite their initial clash, Tony sees great potential in Destiny and helps her find her own destiny.
