Phil Weston, a well-meaning but troubled individual, struggles with the legacy of his overbearing sports coach father, who belittled him as a child. As a result, Phil's relationship with his own son is strained due to his own competitive nature. When Phil becomes the coach of his son's underperforming soccer team, he sets his sights on defeating his father's rival team, a challenge that tests his ability to balance his personal demons with his desire to succeed.
