Rachel Phelps, the new owner of the Cleveland Indians, assembles a team of misfits to intentionally lose and justify moving the team to Miami for better weather and a new stadium. The team includes a catcher with bad knees, a veteran pitcher with no control, and other players with various flaws. Despite their initial struggles, they start to win and thwart Phelps' plans.
