In the movie, Gene Autry tries to broker a deal that benefits both the Indians and ranchers who are being forced to leave their land due to a new aqueduct in Mesa City. However, the town banker, Mason, is opposed to the deal and incites the Indians against Gene. With the help of school teacher Carol, Gene is able to uncover Mason's schemes and ultimately succeed in his efforts.
