In 1876, Deadwood, South Dakota was a lawless town in chaos after the Custer massacre. Wild Bill Hickok, a disillusioned ex-lawman, and Seth Bullock, seeking a fresh start, found themselves at odds with ruthless saloon owner Al Swearengen.
