In the post-war Bosnian town of Tesanj, a fragile sense of peace prevails despite the presence of landmines, corruption, and human trafficking. Retired police chief Zaim struggles to cope with the loss of his son, whose body remains missing, and his vision is haunted by his son's ghost. As the town prepares for a visit from President Clinton, the community is forced to confront its dark secrets, including the trafficking of women and the integration of Serbs into the neighborhood. Meanwhile, Zaim's son's siblings, Faruk and Azra, try to come to terms with their brother's death and find a way to bring peace to their family.
