In the 12th Century, Count Thibault Malefète travels to England to marry Princess Rosalind, but his rival Earl of Warwick hires a witch to prepare a magic potion to make her give up the marriage. During the wedding feast, Thibault drinks the spiked wine and has hallucinations, killing Rosalind and getting arrested. He asks his servant André to bring a wizard to send him back in time, but they end up in the 21st Century, causing chaos in a Chicago museum. The employee Julia believes Thibault is her French cousin who drowned three years ago, but he notes she's his descendant. The wizard follows them to help Thibault return to the 12th Century.
