A childless couple, Leela and Bholaram, adopt a baby boy, Kanhaiya, after assisting with the birth of twins. Meanwhile, the other twin, Kishen, is mistreated by his stepmother Kamini and her brother Ghendamal, who use him for their own gain. Kishen is kept illiterate and subjected to abuse, leading him to eventually run away. Ghendamal then captures Kanhaiya, unaware that the tables are turning.
