In medieval Italy, Leonardo "Leo" Da Vinci is a teenager who invents advanced machines. He lives with his best friend Lorenzo and secretly loves Lisa. When her father's farm is destroyed, Lisa's father must pay off debts or risk losing everything. Leo travels to Florence to earn money and pay the debt with Lorenzo's help. However, Lorenzo reveals Leo's plans, and Lisa joins him, meeting a storyteller who tells them about a sunken pirate ship with a treasure. Believing the story, Leo buys a treasure map, which is stolen by a thieving girl named Agnes. Leo makes a deal with Agnes to recover the map, and she joins the group along with Niccolo, a young scientist. The five friends arrive on Montecristo Island, unaware that pirates are following them, waiting for the perfect moment to steal the treasure and eliminate them.
