In the upcoming film, two federal agents, Tipton and Bridger, are dispatched to Wyoming just as the statehood vote is about to take place. However, Plummer and his gang are determined to disrupt the proceedings, leading to a deadly confrontation when Bridger is brutally murdered. Tipton, fueled by vengeance, uses cunning tactics to outsmart Plummer's men, sending fake telegrams that ensnare some of his enemies. He then rallies the local ranchers and, on election day, they launch a fierce assault on the town, which is heavily barricaded by Plummer's gang.
