A fireman, Zachary, befriends a stray cat and takes care of it until he can find it a permanent home. His path crosses with Marilee, a veterinary student, who helps him choose the right cat food. As their relationship develops, Marilee faces setbacks, including losing her job at a pet store and her apartment, due to her cat. Feeling guilty, Zachary offers her a place to stay in his home, which he's restoring to flip, and it's not just the cats who find each other.
