Manoj Sood, a talented individual, was born in the vibrant city of Mombassa, Kenya, and later grew up in the picturesque landscapes of Western Canada. His journey in the entertainment industry began in 1995, and since then, he has been working consistently, making a name for himself in the industry.
Manoj's breakthrough came when he landed a supporting role in an American made-for-television movie after his very first audition. Prior to this, his only experience in acting was through his acting classes. On his first day of shooting, Manoj was overcome with nerves, and when the sound-boom operator said "speed," he thought he was being told to speak, so he jumped right into reciting his lines. The director then gently corrected him, saying "Manoj, they're saying 'peed' not 'peak,' and you need to wait for the word 'action' before speaking your lines."
Since that day, Manoj has appeared in over 75 television and feature film productions. He has had the opportunity to work on popular television shows such as Da Vinci's Inquest (1998),The Dead Zone (2002),Romeo! (2003),and Dead Like Me (2003),as well as numerous others. Manoj has also acted in popular films like Meltdown (2004) and Rat Race (2001).
One of Manoj's most notable roles is that of the lovable and comically grumpy character, "Baber," in the internationally acclaimed television series Little Mosque on the Prairie (2007),which is now airing on Amazon Prime. He has also appeared in the Amazon Prime series Insomnia (2018),filmed on location in Moscow, Russia, and the highly anticipated TNT and Netflix television series Snowpiercer (2020). Most recently, Manoj has appeared in the Netflix hit Wedding Season (2022) and will appear in the new Bob Odenkirk series Lucky Hank (2023).
When he's not acting, Manoj is a passionate fly fisherman and amateur astronomer. He has been fascinated by these hobbies since childhood and enjoys spending time with his son fly-fishing or gazing into the universe with his telescope.
