The movie follows Air Force Lt. Col. John Burton as he's tasked with assessing the effectiveness of the Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicle, a troop carrier/scout vehicle prone to catastrophic failures. Despite his efforts to conduct a proper live-fire armor test, Burton's attempts are consistently thwarted by his superior, Army Maj. Gen. Partridge, who prioritizes getting the vehicle into production and combat.
