A blind masseur and skilled swordsman, Zatoichi, discovers a pregnant woman who has been robbed and left for dead. He delivers the baby and, after the mother's passing, sets out to find the father. Along the way, he meets the child's aunt, who is on the verge of being forced into prostitution due to a debt owed by the dead mother. Zatoichi decides to intervene and rescue the woman from her predicament.
