Two astronauts must put aside their differences and work together to stay alive after a catastrophic space accident strands them with scarce resources and no hope of rescue.
A brilliant medical engineer, Dr. Ryan Stone, embarks on her first shuttle mission alongside veteran astronaut Matt Kowalski, who's on his final flight before retirement. During a routine spacewalk, catastrophe occurs, leaving Stone and Kowalski stranded, attached only to each other, and hurtling into the void.
