The Three Mesquiteers, a group of veterans, return to Oklahoma after the Spanish-American War and are concerned about the future of their wounded comrades. They discover that the government is offering homesteads in the newly-opened Oklahoma territory to veterans, and they encourage their friends to join them. However, they face a hostile reception from cattlemen who resent the influx of settlers and plan to drive them out. The Mesquiteers ultimately show the cattlemen that there is room for both the settlers and the ranchers, and they work together to defeat their common enemy.
