On the Fiddle

A street vendor's life takes an unexpected turn when he's forced to join the army, only to forge a lasting connection with a carefree pedlar.

A young man named Horace Pope is forced to enlist in the army after being caught selling goods on the street, claiming he was only doing so while waiting to join. Despite his initial reluctance, Pope forms a bond with his fellow soldier Pedlar Pascoe, who shares his desire to avoid the front lines and make a profit. However, their schemes often cause chaos and eventually lead them to the battle-scarred landscape of France.
