Meteor Bay-Leder 7 struck Earth on October 18th, 2012, causing widespread destruction and changing the planet's climate forever. The disaster left Russia destroyed and Europe in a state of perpetual winter, known as the "death zone". Three years later, survivors have established settlements in equatorial regions, where they struggle to survive in a harsh environment. When a military command center detects a signal from an experimental satellite, an expedition is sent to investigate and destroy the source. Led by Tom Parker, a former security head, the team must navigate the treacherous "death zone" to find the base and satellite. Along the way, they discover a group of survivors living in the Berlin subway system, led by Gregor Starndorf, Anna's father. His plan to use a microwave power satellite to heat up the atmosphere and restore the climate is met with resistance from a mysterious figure seeking revenge.
