The Hired Gun background

The Hired Gun

Accused of murdering her husband, Ellen Beldon joins forces with Jud Farrow, a rugged ranch foreman, to escape from a Texas jail and find safety with her uncle at his New Mexico ranch.

Ellen Beldon, accused of murdering her husband, is rescued by Judd Farrow and taken to her uncle's New Mexico ranch. However, her father-in-law hires professional gunman Gil McCord to capture her and bring her back to Texas for execution. As they journey back, Ellen recounts the events leading up to her trial, claiming her brother-in-law Kell Beldon was responsible for her husband's death. Determined to clear her name, Gil sets out to confront the only witness, drunken fur-trapper Elby Kirby, while Kell tries to regain control by turning Ellen back over to the law.
