As an icy storm sets in, a group of dinosaurs becomes stranded in a valley. One family of "spike tail" dinosaurs, recognizing they consume more resources than others, decides to venture out to find a new home, leaving the others behind. Meanwhile, a young group of dinosaurs, accompanied by a new adult companion named Mr. Thicknose, embarks on a mission to rescue their friend Spike, who has abandoned his friends to join his own kind.
