Two of Antwerp's top detectives, Vincke and Verstuyft, investigate the disappearance of a high-ranking official and the murder of two prostitutes, leading them to Angelo Ledda, an almost retired assassin suffering from Alzheimer's. As Ledda's memory fails, he's unable to complete his contracts, and when he's asked to kill a 12-year-old girl, he refuses, making him a target.
