A teenage boy struggles with a compulsive thumb-sucking habit, which affects his relationships and academic performance. Despite his father's efforts to help, he becomes increasingly withdrawn and isolated. A trip to the dentist, who uses hypnosis to try and break the habit, seems to work, but a diagnosis of Attention Deficit Disorder and prescription of medication lead to unexpected consequences.
