True History of the Kelly Gang background

True History of the Kelly Gang

Notorious Australian outlaw Ned Kelly and his gang orchestrate a daring breakout from authorities in the late 19th century, leading to a thrilling path of mayhem.

In 1867 Australia, Ned Kelly's life takes a dramatic turn. As a young boy, his father, an Irish convict, is arrested for killing a neighbor's cow after Ned's own mistake. Ned saves a wealthy family's son from drowning and is offered a scholarship to their elite boarding school, but his mother rejects it as a symbol of English oppression. Ned's father dies in prison, and his mother sends him to live with bushranger Harry Power to learn the ways of the outback. Ned quits and returns home, serving three years in prison for a non-lethal shooting incident. Upon release, he becomes a successful bare-knuckle boxer, visits his mother, and meets Mary. Eventually, he turns to a life of crime.
