Nicholas Caradoc Hoult, born on December 7, 1989, in Wokingham, Berkshire, England, UK, is the son of Glenis Hoult, a piano teacher, and Roger Hoult, a pilot. He has three siblings, two sisters, and one brother. Notably, his great-aunt, Dame Anna Neagle, was a renowned actress in her time.
Hoult's early start in acting began at the Sylvia Young Theatre School, a prestigious institution for performing arts. His breakthrough role came as a child when he starred as Marcus Brewer in the 2002 film About a Boy, alongside Hugh Grant. In 2005, he appeared in his first American film, The Weather Man, as the son of Nicolas Cage.
At the age of 17, Hoult received recognition for his role as Tony Stonem in the BAFTA-awarded British teen-drama series Skins (2007). He later gained recognition for his portrayal of Kenny Potter in the Oscar-nominated film A Single Man (2009),which was directed by Tom Ford.
