Jillian was born Huyen Dieu in a Vietnamese refugee camp in Sungai Besi, Malaysia, and later immigrated to Australia when she was just 14 months old.
She pursued her passion for the performing arts by training at the prestigious L'Ecole Philippe Gaulier in France, and then went on to graduate from the University of Melbourne, where she studied film, media, and psychology.
In recent years, Jillian has made a name for herself in the entertainment industry, with notable roles in the television drama "One Night" for Paramount+, alongside Jodie Whittaker and Yael Stone.
She also made her animation debut in the lead role of Arkie in Nathan Jurevicius' "Scarygirl", starring alongside Sam Neill, Ana Torv, and Deborah Mailman.
In addition to her television and animation work, Jillian has also appeared in several feature films, including Noora Niasari's debut feature "Shayda", opposite award-winning Iranian actress Zar Amir Ebrahimi, which premiered at Sundance 2023 to critical acclaim.
Her other notable film credits include the romantic sci-fi feature "Loveland", co-starring Hugo Weaving, and the Kiwi comedy feature film "Millie Lies Low" (SFF 2022) from director Michelle Savill, which premiered at the 2022 Berlinale.
