In the small town of Keenesburgh, a ruthless town boss is exacting heavy taxes from the citizens, threatening to take away their land if they don't comply. As the town prepares to elect a new county seat, the boss takes drastic measures to ensure his own victory, including hiring a notorious gunman. However, a U.S. Marshal and his partner pose as the gunman and a school teacher, respectively, to infiltrate the town and bring about an honest election. As tensions rise, the Marshal must outwit the town boss and his gang to ensure the town's future.
