In the movie, Blondie takes charge and creates the Housewives of America to contribute to the war effort by performing various duties, including guarding the local dam. Meanwhile, Dagwood and the other husbands are less than thrilled about being left behind to handle domestic chores, so Dagwood decides to pretend to join the Army. This leads Blondie to disband the organization and return home.
